MOUNT PULASKI - Marcus Hoock, son of
Gayle Hoock of Mount Pulaski has been named May Senior-of-the-month
at Mount Pulaski High School. He was selected for this honor based
on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Academically, Marcus is one of the top students in the Class of
2014 at Mount Pulaski High School. Marcus was a member of the golf
team for 3 years and was a member of FFA for 3 years. Marcus is also
in the Co-Op program at Mount Pulaski High School. Marcus also
participates in the Latham Methodist Youth Group and has
participated in the youth work camps for 4 years. Youth work camps
were a week long summer program providing home improvements and
repairs for elderly, disabled, or financially challenged
individuals. Quad cities, IL, Jamestown, NY, and Irwin, PA were
locations serviced. Marcus is also a member of the Zion Lutheran
Church in Mount Pulaski.
Marcus plans on completing 1 year at Heartland Community College in
the fall and then transferring to the University of Illinois to
pursue a degree in construction management and technological
education.
The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Johnson’s Food
Center and Mt. Pulaski Pharmacy. Monthly award winners receive a $50
award paid to the college they plan to attend and compete for the
Senior-of-the-Year honor in May.
