LCU Commencement Ceremonies: May 17

[May 16, 2014]  LINCOLN - Lincoln Christian University (LCU), will hold its 2014 Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Earl C Hargrove Chapel Auditorium. Ceremonies for undergraduate students of the School of Undergraduate Studies and the Hargrove School of Adult & Graduate Studies will be held at 10 a.m. The ceremony for graduate-degree students of Adult & Graduate Studies and the Seminary will begin at 1 p.m. The ceremonies will also be streamed live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/8181644 .

More than 160 graduates and their families will fill the LCU Auditorium in a tradition that celebrates LCU’s milestone 70-year anniversary. Graduates have earned degrees in more than 40 career and ministry fields that span academic levels from certificates, associates and bachelor’s degrees to master’s and doctoral degrees.

The keynote speaker for both ceremonies is Jud Wilhite, senior pastor of Central Christian Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. His message is entitled, “Surviving the Rollercoaster of Leadership.” Wilhite is an alumnus of Lincoln Christian Seminary, a frequent conference speaker and a New York Times bestselling author. His teachings are heard nationally on K-LOVE radio networks.

LCU holds just one Commencement each year, and allows students who graduated the previous August and December to participate if they wish. The total number of students completing their degrees at LCU during the 2013-2014 academic year is 268. While some students choose to graduate in absentia, others come from far away. This year graduates have traveled from Nevada, Missouri, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Washington (state), Ohio, Oregon, Nebraska, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Canada.
