[May 20, 2014]  LINCOLN - Building and Grounds Committee Meeting, Logan County Safety Complex, March 4, 2014

Present: Kevin Bateman; Bob Farmer; Chuck Ruben; Jan Schumacher Absent: Andy Meister

Guests: Don Frontone

Mr. Bateman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mrs. Schumacher, to approve the minutes from the February 20, 2014 meeting. Motion passed.

Don Frontone from The Stone River Group spoke with the committee on using them as a consultant for Municipal Aggregation.

Old Business

Courthouse phone system - Mr. Bateman reported the new phone system is up and running.

Exterior lighting of Courthouse - Mrs. Schumacher has not heard back from the consultants. The consultants are planning on doing a mock-up of the courthouse. Mrs. Schumacher will follow up with them.

Safety Complex HVAC - Special meeting was held early this evening. Bids are due back April 2nd.

Safety Complex roof - Committee wants to wait until HVAC project is finish.

Sandstone Step repairs - Waiting on weather to break.

Benches for Sully Park - Committee wants to order new benches for Scully Park. They are looking into using the same vendor that was used for courthouse benches.

Logan County Website - Mr. Bateman discussed this item with Todd Farley this will be placed on the back burner for now.


New Business

Advertise Mowing Bids - Mr. Bateman is going to contract Flippers Lawn Care to see if they will match last year’s bid.

  • Lincoln Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt- Latham Park April 12

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Farmer to approve requests. Motion passed.


Report from Dennis Reves - Mr. Bateman discussed the idea of getting Dennis Reves a new floor scrubber. Budget Review: No concerns.

Public Comments:

  • Mr. Bateman discussed to allow the display of a Relay for Life sign on the Courthouse grounds, with the location to be determined with the assistance of Dennis Reves.
  • Mr. Bateman discussed the idea of getting fax over IP in the future. This will eliminate fax lines and save the county money.

A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to approve the bills. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:40 pm.
