[May 19, 2014]  LINCOLN - Thelma J. McKnight, 83, of Mount Pulaski, formerly of Lincoln, passed away at 11:10 p.m. on May 14, 2014 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Visitation: Monday at  1 p.m.; 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Service: Monday at 2 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Obituary

Lincoln- Thelma J. McKnight, 83, of Mount Pulaski, formerly of Lincoln, passed away at 11:10 p.m. on May 14, 2014 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Thelma was born on July 24, 1930 in Springfield; daughter of Lloyd C and Margaret Bryson Day. She married Melvin R. McKnight on June 14, 1953 in Springfield. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1996.

Thelma is survived by two brothers: Edward Day of Denver, CO and Keith Day of Dallas, NC; one Niece: Jean (Jeff) Martin of Mount Pulaski; one nephew: Lloyd Day of Lincoln; as well as several other nieces and nephews: great nephews: Doug (Erin) Martin and Derek (Renee) Martin both of Mount Pulaski; special friends: Mark, Diane, Bryce, Brent, and Katie Hunsley of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Mildred Wiebking, and one brother Robert Day.

Thelma loved to go camping, boating, and traveling. She also volunteered at the Logan County Genealogical Society.

Services for Thelma will be 2:00 p.m. Monday May 19, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial at New Union Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be given to the Logan County Genealogical Society or Vonderlieth Living Center Foundation.
