Zion Lutheran’s Podbelsek is a triple-threat at State Track Meet

[May 24, 2014]  LINCOLN - Zion Lutheran School 8th grader, Lance Podbelsek, placed in three events at the Lutheran Sports Association State Track Meet on the campus of Concordia University-Chicago.

Lance placed 4th place in the triple jump with a leap of 37’ 3 ½. He also placed 7th at state in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.98 seconds and 8th in the long jump with a jump of 16 feet.

Lance’s triple jump effort broke his own Zion Lutheran School track record.

ZLS students Michael Newhouse (triple jump and long jump) and Madelyn Koehler (triple jump) also qualified for and competed in the state meet. Lauren Canady qualified in four events, but was unable to participate due to an injury. The ZLS 4x100 relay team of Lance Podbelsek, Michael Newhouse, Greyson Rademaker, and Trent Koehler qualified for the state meet but was unable to compete.
