[May 30, 2014]  May 29 (The Sports Xchange) - The Seattle Seahawks agreed to a new contract with wide receiver Doug Baldwin, according to reports Thursday.

NFL Network reported the deal is for three years and $13 million -- an average of $5.45 per year in new money, and can be worth up to $6.5 million per year with incentives.

Seven weeks removed from ankle surgery, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning practiced for the second day in a row.

Manning is taking snaps from center, dropping back, rolling out and throwing passes to his receivers, backs and tight ends.

New Orleans Saints safety Jairus Byrd underwent back surgery that the team hopes will have him back at full speed in time for training camp, coach Sean Payton said Thursday.

Payton said the surgery for the Saints' prized free agency acquisition didn't have to be done but that all parties decided it would be best for Byrd long-term after a disc issue had been nagging him for the past month.

The Carolina Panthers signed their second-round draft choice, defensive end Kony Ealy from Missouri, the team announced Thursday.

The Buffalo Bills signed offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio to a rookie contract on Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not announced for the team's second-round pick (No. 44 overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Chicago Bears on Thursday signed tackle/guard Michael Ola, who was released by the Miami Dolphins.

Running back Jackie Battle will have more added to his plate in his effort to land a spot on the 53-man roster with the Tennessee Titans.

Battle, a tailback his entire NFL career that took him from Kansas City to San Diego and finally to the Titans last year, is in the running for a role as a fullback.

Cornerback Pierre Desir, the 127th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, signed a four-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Desir won the Cliff Harris Award as the best small-college defensive player at Division II Lindenwood (Mo.) last season.

The first of two fifth-round selections by the Pittsburgh Steelers, cornerback Shaquille Richardson, signed a four-year deal on Thursday.

The Washington Redskins signed 2014 third-round draft pick Morgan Moses. The Virginia offensive tackle was drafted 66th overall.
