[May 30, 2014]  BETHANY - Okaw Valley High School Senior Abigail Weybright has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Lincoln Christian University (LCU). LCU’s Women’s Basketball Head Coach, Donnie Bowman, traveled to Bethany, Illinois to officiate the signing.

Weybright was a standout defender and contributor for the Timberwolves. Okaw Valley Girl’s Basketball Head Coach, Don Gardner heaped praise on Weybright, describing his trust in her as a clutch player, “With the game on the line, I would put the ball in Abigail’s hands every time. Whether she’s dishing out assists, grabbing rebounds, or stealing opponent’s passes, there’s not much she can’t do.”

LCU Women’s Basketball Head Coach Donnie Bowman, was also effusive in his praise for Weybright, “She is strong, works hard, and has come through for her team in the past. I think she’ll make a great addition to our squad and I am looking forward to seeing what she will bring to the Red Lions.”

LCU’s School of Undergraduate Studies is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and has been awarded membership in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) beginning fall 2014. Founded in Lincoln, Illinois in 1944, Lincoln Christian University’s three schools – the School of Undergraduate Studies, the Hargrove School of Adult & Graduate Studies and Lincoln Christian Seminary – share a mission to nurture and equip Christians with a Biblical worldview to serve and lead in the church and the world.
