Wolverines take two from the Bruins

[November 06, 2014]  The West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines traveled to Mount Pulaski and stole two wins from the Bruins, on a night where Mount Pulaski Grade School honored a coaching legend by naming their gymnasium after Bob Gasaway.

In the seventh-grade game, Kaden Froebe led all scorers with 18 points and four assists, while Draden Pozgai added 12 in a 40-37 victory. Also scoring for WLB (3-0) in the victory was; Payton Anderson with six, and both Joe Dalpoas and Kameron Whiteman had two points.

After an inspiring ceremony between the two games, where MPGS brought out their legendary coach to a standing ovation from a packed house, the Wolverines (2-1) earned a hard fought 47-42 win.

Froebe scored 23 points and added four assists while Shane Shumard poured in 12 points. Also scoring was Pozgai with six, Anderson with four, and Kade Schmidt with two.

Both Wolverine teams head back to the Carroll Round Robin Tournament Friday night to face the Cougars from Illini Central. The seventh-grade games tips first at 6:30 p.m.
