Hartsburg-Emden headed for 1A State championship volleyball play

[November 10, 2014]  HARTSBURG - The Hartsburg-Emden Lady Stags have worked their way up to play for the big titles. The Stags enter state championship play-offs this weekend.

The road to state for the Stags was paved with wins over Kewanee (Wethersfield) 25-20, 25-15 in Sectional Finals, and the Stags repeated those scores, 25-20, 25-15, in play against Hardin (Calhoun) at Super Sectionals.

The Stags now will see Woodlawn on the floor for State semi-final play on Friday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. in Redbird Arena, Normal.

With a win, the Stags return to court the next day, Saturday, November 15, same time, same place, Redbird at 10:30 a.m., to see the winner of the Cissna Park / Rockford (Keith Country Day) semi-final for State runner-up and champion titles.

Third place title play begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Redbird.
