[November 10, 2014]  Nov 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn is out for the next two weeks with an upper-body injury, the team announced Sunday.

Schenn was injured when he was hit into the boards by Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon with less than a minute left in the first period of Saturday's game.

MacKinnon was assessed a five-minute major for boarding.

Schenn has one goal and one assist through 14 games this season.

The Flyers also are without defensemen Andrew MacDonald (lower body) and Kimmo Timonen (blood clots). Defenseman Braydon Coburn returned after sustaining a lower-body injury in the season opener.

Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel has a hearing scheduled with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Monday because of an incident with San Jose Sharks defenseman Justin Braun.
 


Roussel was assessed a two-minute penalty for roughing and a 10-minute game misconduct at 18:51 of the third period of Saturday's game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled center Trevor Smith from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. Smith, 29, has two goals, three assists in eight regular season games with the Marlies this season.

Maple Leafs center Daniel Winnik missed his second game with a neck injury.

The Anaheim Ducks placed right wing Corey Perry on injured reserve.

Perry is eligible to be activated for the Ducks' game on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings recalled defensemen Mat Clark and Shea Theodore from Norfolk of the AHL.

The Florida Panthers reassigned forward Rocco Grimaldi to San Antonio of the AHL. Grimaldi, 21, made his NHL debut with the Panthers on Nov. 1 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Buffalo Sabres assigned forward Johan Larsson to the Rochester Americans of the AHL. Larsson has played four games with Buffalo this season.

Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk missed his second game with a sore groin, but defenseman Kyle Quincey returned after missing three games with an ankle injury.

Ottawa Senators defenseman Chris Phillips was back in action after missing two games with what he originally called "muscle tiredness."

Right wing Alex Chiasson missed his second game with a foot injury.

Chicago Blackhawks left wing Daniel Carcillo (upper body) missed his eighth consecutive game, but he has taken part in skating drills and is on track to return later this month. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
