[November 17, 2014]  HARTSBURG-EMDEN - Hartsburg-Emden Lady Stags took first runner up at State Volleyball Championship play-offs on Saturday morning at Redbird Arena.

Rockford (Keith Country Day) won the State Champ title with scores 25 - 11, 25 - 23.

Congratulations Lady Stags Jordan Detmers, Lexi Strange, Ashley Zinser, Tearaney Eads, Arriana Hoerbert, Hope Moos, Maddie Shawgo, Kaylee Beekman, Adreanna Vetter, Ava Patterson, Emme Olson, Erin Lessen, Emma Moats and Hunter Langley; and Coach Jennifer Hayes and assistant coach Jessie Eeten.

These are girls that play their hearts out as demonstrated a couple weeks ago when they put themselves on the road to Sectional in play. After two tight rounds 19-25, 25-20 against Liberty, the Lady Stags would not relinquish, pushed over-time to 33-31 as the Hart-Em Ladies defeated Liberty.

Last Year, the Lady Stags were knocked out of Class 1A play at Regionals by Mount Pulaski Lady Hilltoppers in a score of 27-25, 28-26.

With this year's finish at state, the Lady Stags end their season 29 - 9.

For third place State, Cissna Park beat Woodlawn 20 - 25, 25 - 23, 25 - 17.
