[November 22, 2014]  LINCOLN - Get Covered Illinois (GCI) and its Springfield-area community partners will host a series of pre-enrollment events to educate local residents about their health coverage options in Lincoln.

The open enrollment period for the 2015 Affordable Care Act began on November 15 and will run through February 15th.

These events will be an opportunity for local residents to ask questions about ACA, determine if they may qualify for the Marketplace or Medicaid and enroll into a Quality Health Plan (QHP).

If residents qualify for the Marketplace or Medicaid, they will be able to enroll on-site with the help of a navigator.

No appointments are necessary. Consumers should bring Social Security numbers (or document numbers for immigrants); proof of state residency (driver’s license, housing lease or utility bill); copy of 2013 tax return; and current health insurance information, if applicable.

The events will be held in Lincoln on December 2nd from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lincoln Public Library and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Park District
