LINCOLN - This Saturday the
Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Lincoln, and
the Logan County Tourism Bureau will join with downtown merchants in
a day of fun activities in celebration of Small Business Saturday.
|
The fun will begin at 9 a.m. inside the O’Donohue building
located on North Kickapoo Street just a block off the downtown
Square. Guests can start off the day with sweet treats and other
refreshments provided by Mel-o-Cream and Kroger.
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and a few words offered up
by Mayor Keith Snyder.
Then the real fun begins. Shoppers will be able to go on a downtown
scavenger hunt. When they visit participating merchants, they will
be given a task (nothing too difficult). When the task is complete,
they will receive their next clue as to where they should go.
Follow the clues to wherever they may lead, and then carefully
“scavenge” for a porcelain watermelon. When the melon is found,
present it to a sales associate inside that business for a chance to
win an instant $25 gift card.

Some may win the gift cards, and some may not, but don’t stop
scavenger-ing because there is more! Shoppers who collect all 10
clues and turn them into the Shop Small Headquarters (O’Donohue’s)
before 2 p.m. will gain entry into a drawing for other prizes.
Among those prizes will be $575 in American Express gift cards
and other gift cards and prizes donated by participating
businesses. Businesses participating in this year’s event are:
Beans & Such, Serendipity Stitches, By the Bean, Michael Gowin
Photography, Lloyd & Luna’s Unique Boutique, New Beginnings, Prairie
Years, Cherished Memories, Mary Todd’s Hallmark and MKS Jewelry.
