"A tournament with 28 schools is unheard of for central Illinois,
so we were pleasantly surprised with getting any of the kids in
finals," said assistant coach Wyatt Phillis, "let alone 12 of our 21
entries. Just outstanding."
Junior Braden Tanner and freshman Justin Woods tied this week for
first in varsity Dramatic Duet Acting, but the tie was broken with
speaker points, so they received 2nd place.
Also receiving a 2nd place was junior Lena Stapleton in junior
varsity Dramatic Interpretation.
Third place finishes went to sophomore Claire Conrady in varsity
Original Comedy and junior varsity Dramatic Interpretation, juniors
Colton Clark and McKenzie Landers in varsity Humorous Duet Acting,
and sophomore Reagen Tibbs in both junior varsity Radio Speaking and
Extemporaneous Speaking.
McCray and Conrady also placed 4th in varsity Dramatic Duet Acting.
Stapleton and freshman Zak Luken placed 5th in junior varsity DDA.

Sophomore Belle Smith placed 5th in varsity Oratorical
Declamation after advancing from semi-finals. McCray also
advanced to semi-finals in varsity Dramatic Interpretation.
McCray and Tanner placed 7th in varsity Humorous Duet Acting.
The team next travels to Bloomingon Dec. 6.
