[October 03, 2014]  ATLANTA - Jerry W. Adams, 75, of Atlanta, died at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta  

Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Obituary

Jerry W. Adams, 75, of Atlanta, died at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral Services for Mr. Adams will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home. Mr. Maurice Stribling will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6.

Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by Atlanta American Legion Post 341.

Jerry Wayne Adams was born January 20, 1939, in Chestnut, the son of Ray and Budella Bradway Adams. He married Julia Jones on January 28, 1961, in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2007.

Jerry is survived by his children: LaVonne (Terry) McCain, Yvonne (Mark) Fishburn and Allen (Bev) Adams; one brother: Larry (Karen) Vannoy; seven grandchildren: James Rich, Cory Rich, Brandi Adams, Heather Adams, Ashley McCain, Jonathon McCain and Tori Fishburn; and nine great-granchildren: Alexis, Anayah, Jerret, Hunter, Jayden, Myrssa, Carson, Savannah and Colton.

Funeral Director

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife; one son: Kenneth; four siblings: Dennis Adams, Robert Bland, Abraham Vannoy and Tena Gilmore.

Jerry was retired from heavy equipment operation at Daugherty and Crane Excavating and farming for Jim Klokkenga Farms and Gene Howard Farms. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed antique John Deere Tractors, trucks and cars.

The family extends special thanks to DaVita Lincoln for the loving care given to Jerry.

Memorials may be made to DaVita Healthcare in Lincoln.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
