[October 04, 2014]  Oct 3 (The Sports Xchange) - The Chicago Blackhawks added forward Daniel Carcillo to their training camp roster Friday.

Carcillo had 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 51 regular-season games with Chicago from 2011 to 2013 and added one assist in four 2013 playoff games.

Carcillo, 29, split the 2013-14 regular season between the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers, combining for five points (four goals, one assist), 121 hits and 100 penalty minutes, including six fighting majors, in 57 games. He added two goals in eight 2014 Stanley Cup playoff contests with the Rangers.

A women fell to her death from an escalator on Thursday night at a St. Louis Blues game in the Scotttrade Center in St. Louis.

According to police, the unidentified woman fell from the second level and was taken to a local hospital. Her death was ruled accidental.


"Everyone with the St. Louis Blues -- our ownership, management, coaches, players and staff -- extends our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the woman's family and friends. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers, and we ask all Blues fans to do the same," Blue chairman Tom Stillman said.

The Detroit Red Wings made several moves Friday to reduce their roster to 34 players.

The team assigned forward Louis-Marc Aubry and goaltender Tom McCollum to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. In addition, the Red Wings placed forward Pavel Datsyuk on seven-day injured reserve retroactive to Sept. 22 and forward Andy Miele and right winger Anthony Mantha on non-roster injured reserve.

The Minnesota Wild assigned seven players to Iowa of the American Hockey League and reduced their training camp roster to 27 on Friday.

The players are defensemen Jonathon Blum and Justin Falk, and forwards Tyler Graovac, Michael Keranen, Zack Phillips, Gustav Olofsson and Joel Rechlicz. The Wild also placed forwards Curt Gogol and Brett Sutter on waivers. They will be assigned to Iowa on Saturday if they clear waivers.

The Florida Panthers assigned six players to San Antonio of the American Hockey League on Friday.

The players are forwards Rocco Grimaldi, Quinton Howden, Drew Shore and Vincent Trocheck, and defensemen Alex Petrovic and Mackenzie Weegar.

The team also placed defenseman Blake Parlett on injured reserve.

The Edmonton Oilers placed goaltender Richard Bachman on waivers Friday for the purpose of assignment to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.

The Colorado Avalanche signed goaltender Spencer Martin to a three-year, entry-level contract, according to a report Friday.

TVA Sports reported the deal is a two-way contract, which carries an annual average value of $760,000. Martin, 19, was Colorado's third-round selection at the 2013 draft. In 64 appearances with Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League in 2013-14, Martin posted a 24-33-5 record, a 3.54 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
