[October 06, 2014]  LINCOLN -  The Lynx traveled to East Central College in Union, Mo on Friday. Despite only have a few subs due to injuries Lincoln came out strong and score two quick goals in the first half.

Saul Ramirez got his first start in goal and in the first five minutes got his first career assist when he punted a ball down the field and Carlos Santander flicked the ball to a sprinting Edwin Salazar who dribbled the keeper and passed the ball into the open net. Lincoln would get their second goal later in the half when Kevin Lopez dribbled several defenders and crossed the ball to carlos Santander who hit a one time shot past the keeper. The second half saw Lincoln defending deep and keeping ECC off the score board. Despite having 1 sub and playing a man down due to a red card Lincoln would score a third goal when Jose Salgado headed it into his own net with 4:00 min left on the clock. This would be the score line at the end of 90 minutes. Lincoln 2 ECC 1

Sunday the Lynx would take on region 24 Lewis and Clark. This would be the third game in 5 days and the injury laden Lynx fought hard and had the majority of play but Lewis and Clark won 2-0.

Coach Massena commented, “We were very proud of how the guys played both games. We have a lot of injuries and we are playing a hard schedule with 4 games in 7 days! The guys are playing hard and the soccer is good, attractive soccer but the result Sunday wasn't what we wanted. We have to do better with putting the ball in the back in the net. We missed the final product Sunday and we need to bounce back on Tuesday when we play Lincoln Land.”
