LINCOLN - On October 7, 2014, the
Honorable William Workman, Associate Judge of the Eleventh Judicial
Circuit accepted a fully negotiated plea and sentenced Wesley D.
Cisco to a total of twenty (20) years in the Illinois Department of
Corrections.

Earlier this year, a Logan County Grand Jury returned a Bill of
Indictment against Wesley Cisco charging him with two counts of
Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and two counts of
Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. On August 26, 2014, Wesley Cisco
pled guilty but mentally ill to both counts of Predatory Criminal
Sexual Assault of a Child, each count being a class X felony. As
part of the plea agreement, the lesser offenses of Aggravated
Criminal Sexual Abuse were dismissed.
Wesley Cisco was sentenced to 10 years on each count of Predatory
Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child. The law requires each 10 year
sentence to be served consecutively to each other. In addition,
Wesley Cisco must serve at least 85% of the total 20 year sentence
before becoming eligible for mandatory supervised release (formerly
known as parole).

“We believe this plea agreement reached a proper balance and
a just result. This sentence serves to protect the victim and
the public. In addition, we were able to achieve this result
through a plea which avoided additional impact upon the victim,”
stated Jonathan C. Wright, Logan County State’s Attorney.
