[October 21, 2014]  ELKHART - The United Methodist Church of Elkhart is celebrating its 150th. Anniversary on Sunday October 26th.

A special service is planned for 10:30 AM with the Dist. Superintendent Terry Harter leading the church in celebration. All Elkhart area people are invited to this special event.

The congregation is currently served by Rev. Darrell Howard of Clinton. He has been the minister for the last 4 years. The chairman of the church board is David Barker.

The Elkhart church was built in 1864 and was dedicated by Peter Carthwright, a famous circuit rider. The church was remodeled in 1894 and again in 1924. Since that time many ministers have seen the church progress as it serves the Elkhart community.
