August Insurance and Legislative Meeting

[October 22, 2014]  LINCOLN - Logan County Safety Complex August 13, 2014

Present: Jan Schumacher; Dave Hepler; Emily Davenport; Chuck Ruben
Absent: Andy Anderson; Kevin Bateman
Guests: Nancy Schaub; Bill Donath; Nancy Schaub

Mrs. Schumacher called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Hepler, to approve the minutes from the July 9, 2014 meeting as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business

LEAD’S damage: Mrs. Schumacher reported the LEAD line was hit by lighting a few months ago. CIRMA would not pay for the damage done. Mr. Wright wanted Mrs. Schumacher to resubmit the claim again. Mrs. Schumacher received an email from CIRMA saying they would not cover the lighting damage done to the LEAD line. The reasoning for that was because the lighting did not cause the LEAD line to be damage it was the tech person who cause the damage. Mrs. Schumacher plans to forward the e-mail to Mr. Wright and let him deal with the problem.
 


Employee wellness checks: Mrs. Schumacher read an e-mail from Susan Shull to refresh everyone’s memory on the wellness checks. Mrs. Schaub reviewed what Catapult Wellness has to offer to the employees. Mr. Hepler reported Dr. Wahab and Susan Shull plan to be at the Workshop meeting tomorrow night. No action was taken at this time.

New Business

Abraham Lincoln Statue: Mrs. Marlin and Mr. Donath gave a brief presentation over the Abraham Lincoln Statue. The committee discussed the idea of buying an Abraham Lincoln Statue. A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Hepler, to purchase an Abraham Lincoln Statue. Motion passed. Mr. Ruben will research where the money can come from to purchase the statue.

Insurance Administrator Report: Nothing further to report. Legislative: Nothing further to report.

Appointments:  Emden Fire Protection District Trustee: A motion was made by Mrs. Davenport, seconded by Mr. Hepler, to approve LO 13-14 82- Michael Mason as Emden Fire Protection District Trustee. Motion passed.

Recognitions:  Rosanne Brosamer: A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Hepler, to bring forward a motion tomorrow night to approve LO 13-14 81-Rosanne Brosamer Retirement.

Raffles:

LO 13-14 78- Abraham Lincoln Statue Committee, LO 13-14 79- Salt Creek ABATE,
LO 3-14 80- United Riders Motorcycle Club

A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mrs. Davenport, to approve the raffles as presented. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mr. Davenport to approve the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mrs. Davenport, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:37 p.m.
