[October 29, 2014]  The Illinois Fighting Illini jumped on the Golden Gophers early, withstood a furious comeback, and then were the recipients of a gift fumble that led to a homecoming clinching victory over Minnesota 28-24.

Illini QB Reilly O'Toole, who became the starter when Wes Lunt went down with a season-ending injury, led the way by leading a great opening touchdown drive that set the tone for the game. However, it was the much maligned defense who got it done at critical junctures of the game, who must share the game ball with O'Toole!

The win over No. 24 Minnesota make the Illini 4-4, 1-3 on the season.

Next up for the Illini is a herculean task as they travel to Columbus to tangle with the Buckeyes!
