Lincoln Zone LWML Fall Rally to be held

CHESTNUT -
"Live Forgiven, Live Forgiving” will be the theme for this year’s
Lincoln Zone Fall Rally of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML)
of the Central Illinois District. The rally will be held on
Wednesday, September 17 at Zion Lutheran Church located at 401 N.
Logan Street, Chestnut.

The ladies of Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut and Christ
Lutheran Church of Clinton are working together to host the rally.
There will be a coffee hour prior to opening devotions which will
begin at 9:30 AM by Pastor David Dunlop.
Featured speaker for the rally will be Joel Moritz, Assistant to the
President of Lutheran Church Charities. He will be speaking on his
involvement with Comfort Dog Ministries. Being a son of a pastor and
elementary school teacher, he too wanted to serve the Lord and His
church. With a personal mission to share the Lord’s love to all he
meets, he is always joyful and enthusiastic and ready to share
Christ’s mercy and compassion.
Lincoln Zone President Alice Meeker will conduct the business
meeting. A Christian Life program based on “Live Forgiven, Live
Forgiving” will also be included in the program for the day. Gifts
from the Heart Ingathering will be nonperishable food items which
will be given to the Dove Food Pantry.

The LWML is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Church—Missouri
Synod which proclaims the saving faith of Jesus Christ
throughout the United States and the world. The LWML Central
Illinois District is currently funding various projects through
mites such as: Student Aid for Church Workers, Camp Cilca
lighting, Feed My Starving Children, and the Beardstown Latino
Ministry.
