[September 02, 2014]  CHESTNUT -  "Live Forgiven, Live Forgiving” will be the theme for this year’s Lincoln Zone Fall Rally of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) of the Central Illinois District. The rally will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at Zion Lutheran Church located at 401 N. Logan Street, Chestnut.

The ladies of Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut and Christ Lutheran Church of Clinton are working together to host the rally. There will be a coffee hour prior to opening devotions which will begin at 9:30 AM by Pastor David Dunlop.

Featured speaker for the rally will be Joel Moritz, Assistant to the President of Lutheran Church Charities. He will be speaking on his involvement with Comfort Dog Ministries. Being a son of a pastor and elementary school teacher, he too wanted to serve the Lord and His church. With a personal mission to share the Lord’s love to all he meets, he is always joyful and enthusiastic and ready to share Christ’s mercy and compassion.

Lincoln Zone President Alice Meeker will conduct the business meeting. A Christian Life program based on “Live Forgiven, Live Forgiving” will also be included in the program for the day. Gifts from the Heart Ingathering will be nonperishable food items which will be given to the Dove Food Pantry.
