[September 03, 2014]  LINCOLN - Logan County Safety Complex June 3, 2014

Present: Kevin Bateman; Bob Farmer; Chuck Ruben; Jan Schumacher; Emily Davenport
Absent: Andy Meister
Guests: None

Mr. Bateman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to approve the minutes from the May 6, 2014 meeting. Motion passed.

Old Business:

Safety Complex HVAC: discussed with Safety Complex Roof.

Safety Complex Roof: Mr. Bateman reported Henson Robinson Company agreed to do the roof and HVAC project. Mr. Bateman is waiting on a quote from Henson Robinson to see how much it will cost to fix the roof and heating and cooling. The committee would like to borrow money to fix both HVAC and roof. Mr. Bateman will bring forward a motion at the workshop session on June 12, 2014 after he receives a quote from Henson Robinson.



Benches at Scully Park: Mr. Bateman has been working with Department of Corrections who builds benches and picnic tables. Mr. Bateman hopes to have a price by next meeting. Mrs. Schumacher discussed the idea of hiring a part-time employee to pick up trash in the parks on Mondays and Fridays.

County Website: Mr. Bateman has been working with David Doolin to update our current web page. Mr. Bateman discussed the idea of hiring Brittany Reves to redo our current website. Mr. Bateman would like Ms. Reves to make a design for a new website. No action was taken at this time.

Sidewalk repairs: Mr. Bateman reported the sidewalk on Broadway Street is busted. Mr. Bateman called City of Lincoln to let them know that the sidewalk needs repaired.

New Business:

Landscaping around Courthouse: Mr. Bateman called Illinois Department of Corrections to see if they would be interested in doing landscaping for the Courthouse. Mr. Bateman plans to follow up with Illinois Department of Corrections on June 4, 2014. Mr. Ruben plans to call the office tomorrow morning to place $2,500 spending limit for Building and Grounds Chairmen on Finance agenda. Mrs. Schumacher reported Safety Complex had a gas leak. Mrs. Schumacher called Ameren and got it fix right away. Mrs. Schumacher reported flashing needs painted at the Safety Complex. They would like to see Derek paint the flashing after the roof gets repaired.

Audio Recordings: Mr. Bateman is in the process of working with Todd Farley to see how much space is needed to host audio recordings on the website.

Elevator at Courthouse: Mr. Bateman reported the elevator at the Courthouse needs repairs. Mr. Bateman plans to get quotes.

A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to approve the bills. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mrs. Schumacher, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 8:15 pm.
