The LCHS #1 Singles player (Kena Bere) beat Maalika Patel of
Metamora High School (6-2; 6-1).
For her second match Bere played the tournaments finalist
(Molly Nguyen from Mattoon High school) and lost 2-6; 1-6.
With this loss Bere moved to the consolation bracket where
she beat Anna Schutzback from St Anthony High School in
Effingham (6-2; 6-0). With this win she progressed to the
final bracket where she beat Lucy Deal from Jacksonville High
School (6-2;6-0).
The other top finalist in the consolation bracket was Madison
Tattini from Central Catholic High school in Bloomington.
Bere and Tattini became the two finalists in this bracket
since each of them had lost only one match and won three. They
each received the same points and did not play each other.
Lincoln next plays Away at Mt. Zion High School on 9/9.
