[September 18, 2014]  Sept 17 (The Sports Xchange) - Less than two days after announcing that they were reinstating running back Adrian Peterson to the active roster, the Minnesota Vikings changed course early Wednesday.

The Vikings placed Peterson, who faces a child-abuse charge, on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list until his case is resolved. The move will keep him from participating in team activities, including games, for the foreseeable future.

Celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred made charges Wednesday that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ignored domestic-violence complaints filed against Brandon Marshall back in 2009.

Allred appeared at a press conference in Atlanta with Kristeena Spivey, who accused the now-Chicago Bears wide receiver of abusing her friend Rasheedah Watley, and father Clarence Watley. These aren't new accusations toward Marshall, but Allred and her clients are referencing them in their criticism of Goodell and the NFL.

Cousins started one game in 2012 when Griffin was hurt and the final three of the lost 2013 season when then-coach Mike Shanahan sat down the 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year. It is not known how long it will take for Griffin to return this time.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson of the Washington Redskins said he will play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, his former team, despite a left shoulder injury.

Jackson was released by the Eagles last spring amidst questions about his character and alleged gang affiliations.
