[September 29, 2014]  LINCOLN - Lincoln Christian University (LCU) hosted Monmouth College (MC) and Missouri Baptist University (MBU) on Saturday in a tri-match at Gaston Arena. LCU was able to make quick work of the fighting Scots from Monmouth, winning in straight sets 3–0. The Missouri Baptist Spartans on the other hand proved too much to handle and returned the favor by blanking the Red Lions 3–0.

Abbey Akre (SO/Lisbon, IL) and Alicia Carson (SR/Bloomingdale, MI) continued lead the attack in both games, providing 20 points between them in the first game against Monmouth.

Good defense from MBU slowed them down a bit though, where they combined for only 11, with Carson sitting out the final set.

Taylor Cremeens (JR/Hopedale, IL) continues to lead in assists, while libero Emma Recker (SR/Clinton, IL) flew across the back row collecting dig after dig.

This is the second meeting between LCU and Monmouth, with LCU taking both games. Missouri Baptist has lost on only one game all season and improves to 15-1. LCU, after splitting their matches, improves to 10-8 and will face Hannibal-Lagrange on Tuesday at home.
