[April 02, 2015]  April 1 (The Sports Xchange) - The New York Rangers agreed to terms with defenseman Brady Skjei on an entry-level contract Wednesday.

Skjei, 21, selected by the Rangers in the first round (28th overall) of the 2012 NHL draft, skated in 33 games with the University of Minnesota this season, registering one goal, nine assists and 32 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-3 Skjei in 109 collegiate games over three seasons, recording eight goals, 19 assists and 76 penalty minutes.

The Boston Bruins signed forward Austin Czarnik to an entry-level contract and will report to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Czarnik, 22, finished up his senior season at Miami of Ohio, appearing in 40 games while registering nine goals and 36 assists to lead the team with 45 points. He led the Redhawks the previous three seasons in both assists and points.

The San Jose Sharks reassigned forward Nikolay Goldobin from HIFK to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League.

Goldobin, 18, tallied 11 goals and 10 assists in 38 games with HIFK this season, helping the team reach the playoffs in the Finish Elite League.

San Jose's first-round pick in 2014, Goldobin also played in the inaugural Champions Hockey League tournament with HIFK, recording four points (three assists) in three games.

He also tallied five points (two goals) to help Russia win a silver medal at the 2015 World Junior Championship in January.

The Nashville Predators reassigned forward Viktor Arvidsson to the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL.

Arvidsson, 21, had been recalled March 20 under emergency conditions. In six games, he went pointless on nine shots and had an even rating after leading the Admirals with 51 points (20 goals, 31 assists) in 63 games.

The St. Louis Blues recalled forward Ty Rattie from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

Rattie, 22, has dressed in 59 games for the Wolves this season, ranking second on the club with 21 goals and 42 points. The Calgary native, drafted in the second round in 2011, has made five appearances for the Blues, logging one assist.

The Tampa Bay Lightning signed forward Matthew Peca to a two-year, two-way contract.

Additionally, Peca signed an American Hockey League amateur tryout contract to play the remainder of the 2014-15 season with the Syracuse Crunch.

Peca, 21, skated in 39 games this season as captain of Quinnipiac University, recording 36 points (seven goals, 29 assists) and 27 penalty minutes.

The Toronto Maple Leafs reassigned forward Sam Carrick to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

Carrick, 23, has one goal and one assist in 16 games with the Maple Leafs this season. He has appeared in 50 games with the Marlies, registering 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) and 76 penalty minutes. (Editing by Larry Fine) ))
