[April 11, 2015]  April 10 (The Sports Xchange) - The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed defenseman Brandon Manning to a one-year contract Friday.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Manning will embark on his fifth season in the Flyers organization. He has appeared in 10 games for Philadelphia this season, recording three assists.

The Detroit Red Wings recalled defenseman Alexey Marchenko from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Marchenko, 23, has split his second season between the Red Wings and Griffins, skating in 12 NHL games and 51 AHL games.

During his time with the Red Wings, he has logged two points, including his first NHL goal.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw has been fined $2,000 for diving/embellishment, the NHL announced.

Shaw was issued a warning after an incident flagged by NHL Hockey Operations during a game on Nov. 11. His second citation, which triggered the $2,000 fine, was issued for an incident against the Los Angeles Kings on March 30.

The Winnipeg Jets recalled goaltender Connor Hellebuyck from the St. John's IceCaps of the AHL.

Hellebuyck, 21, is coming to the end of his rookie pro season in the AHL. He has played in 58 games for St. John's, compiling a 2.58 goals-against average, .921 save percentage and six shutouts.

The Buffalo Sabres recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound Ruhwedel joins the Sabres for his second recall of the season. In two NHL games in March, he recorded one assist and a plus-2 rating.

The Edmonton Oilers assigned goaltender Laurent Brossoit to the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL.

The Oilers also activated goaltender Viktor Fasth from injured reserve. Fasth has been out since suffering a knee injury on Feb. 16.

Brossoit, 22, made his NHL debut on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks, stopping 49 of 51 shots, in the 3-1 loss. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
