Lincoln College Fine Arts presents new production of “Antigone”
Theater season wraps up with modern twist on Greek classic

[April 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln College Theater Department will perform “Antigone,” a modern twist on a Greek classic starting Wednesday, April 15 and running through Sunday, April 19. Written by Jean Anouilh, the play features elements from the original work by Sophocles and is recommended for mature audiences. The tragic play tells the story of a young girl fighting for what she thinks is right.

The cast features Angelique Tally (senior from Chicago) as Antigone; Isaiah Denton (sophomore from Chicago) as Creon; Kendall Katz (sophomore from Lincoln) as Ismene; Brett Nelson (sophomore from DeWitt, Iowa) as Jonas; and Lauren Stanfield (junior from Lincoln) as Chorus. Lincoln College Assistant Professor of Theater Martin Holden directed and designed the set, lighting designer is Levert Wilkins, costuming designer is Alexa Maxey; Ryan Huggins is handling publicity

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. April 15 through 18, and 2 p.m. on April 19. All performances will be held in the Hostick Theatre in the Johnston Center for the Performing Arts on the Lincoln College campus. The play is performed in one act and runs approximately 90 minutes.
