Lincoln Heat 10U survives Dee-Mack 5-2 thanks to 14 K’s from Andy Knox

[April 25, 2015]  LINCOLN - Trey Schilling brought home the winning run to give Lincoln Heat 10U the lead in the sixth inning, as Lincoln Heat 10U hung on to beat Dee-Mack 5-2 on Thursday.

Bricen Gillum singled to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base.

Lincoln Heat 10U was led by a flawless day at the dish by Ryan O'Donoghue, who went 3-3 against Dee-Mack's pitching. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Andy Knox handled Dee-Mack's lineup with ease, racking up 14 strikeouts. Andy allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks over seven innings.

Dee-Mack jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. The Dee-Mack attack began with a single, a stolen base and another single.

A one-run seventh inning helped bring Dee-Mack within three with an RBI double. Ryan O’Donoghue came in the seventh inning and secured the save and the win for the Lincoln Heat 10U.

The Lincoln Heat 10U is now 3-0 on the season and is off until next Thursday April 30th when Clinton travels to Lincoln for a double-header at 6:00pm at the Lincoln Rec Center.
