SPRINGFIELD
- Conservation for pollinators can start by introducing the right
plants to your garden. “Gardening for Monarch’s” program will be
held on Sunday, August 9, at 1 pm, at Dana Thomas House, 301 E.
Lawrence Ave., Springfield. Join Brenda Larison, University of
Illinois Extension Master Naturalist volunteer, as she shares
information about monarch butterflies and how gardeners can help
increase their numbers.

In addition participants will learn about the life cycle and
annual migration of monarch butterflies as they begin their 2,000
mile journey south over the next few months. Participants will have
an opportunity to find caterpillars and chrysalises hiding on host
plants. Brenda will also share information on how to raise
caterpillars at home.
