"A night with the Doctor"
Dr. Gonzo one night only for the love of art

[August 10, 2015]  LINCOLN - Check your political correctness at the door and get your tickets now to see Dr. Gonzo, live, in Lincoln, for one night only. Area comedian John Means, aka Dr. Gonzo, will be the main attraction at a benefit fundraiser for Logan County Arts and the Lincoln Art Institute.

Mason City Limits Comedy Club veterans Scotty Harris and Trey Eilers will open the show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15. The show will be held at the Lincoln Art Institute, 112 South McLean Street, in Lincoln. Doors will open at 6:30 for refreshments and viewing of the Logan County Arts’s “Abstract” show.

A man of many talents, Dr. Gonzo’s performances combine stand-up comedy with classic rock parodies. He has headlined major comedy clubs across the country; toured with Huey Lewis and the News, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jefferson Starship, and Joe Walsh; and opened for a diverse group of musicians including Joan Baez, Men at Work, Carlos Santana, and Dionne Warwick. When he’s not on stage as Dr. Gonzo, Means dabbles with art and has exhibited several paintings in shows at the Art Institute.

“We’re very excited to present this show,” said Mitch Douglas, event organizer and Logan County Arts member. “We’re always looking for ways to add to the arts and entertainment options in Lincoln. This event lets us do that and raise funds for lighting and other upgrades to the Institute’s gallery space.”

The show may contain adult themes and is recommended for mature audiences. Tickets are $8 for singles and $12 for couples. Seating is limited so don’t wait.
