[August 12, 2015]  Aug 11 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith had his jaw broken in two places when he was on the wrong end of a punch in the locker room thrown by teammate IK Enemkpali, head coach Todd Bowles said Tuesday.

The Jets cut Enemkpali soon after the incident.

"It was something very childish," Bowles said before Tuesday's practice. "Something sixth graders could've talked about."

According to NFL Network, Enemkpali leveled Smith when the quarterback put his finger in the 270-pounder's face during a heated exchange about money Smith owed, prompting the punch.

Smith is expected to miss 6-10 weeks.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was limited in practice due to a balky elbow.

Coach Mike Pettine said Manziel had a "little elbow soreness." Pettine does not believe the injury is serious and expects Manziel, who threw passes with his left hand, to play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Washington Redskins.

Hartley's agent Erik Burkhardt confirmed that the former Saints and Browns kicker would take over for Suisham, who tore his ACL on a kickoff in Sunday's preseason game against Minnesota.

The Cardinals offered running back Chris Johnson a one-year contract, according to ESPN. However, it is not clear whether Johnson will accept the offer.

The Chicago Bears acquired rookie linebacker Matthew Wells from the New England Patriots for backup guard Ryan Groy.
