[August 12, 2015]  Aug 11 (The Sports Xchange) - The Miami Marlins on Tuesday placed ace right-hander Jose Fernandez on the 15-day disabled list with a right biceps strain.

Left-hander Justin Nicolino was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans to take Fernandez's spot on the roster.

Fernandez, who has a 4-0 record and a 2.30 ERA in his return from Tommy John surgery, underwent an MRI that did not reveal any structural damage.

The Milwaukee Brewers said general manager and president of baseball operations Doug Melvin will transition into an advisory role with the team.

Melvin was named general manager in 2002 and took over as president of operations in 2012.

The Brewers are 48-65 and in last place in the NL Central this season, and they last reached the postseason in 2011.

The Cleveland Indians have placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the bereavement list and recalled infielder Zach Walters from Triple-A Columbus.

Walters will be appearing with the Indians for the third time this season. He is 4-for-27 in 11 games after starting the year on the disabled list with a strained right oblique.

Raburn was hitting .283 with 13 doubles, five home runs and 24 RBIs in 67 games this season. (Editing by Larry Fine) ))
