[August 15, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 9:

WHAT: Single vehicle personal injury crash

WHERE: I-55 Northbound at mile post # 124.5 (Logan County)

WHEN: Saturday, 08/15/2015, approximately 3:23 a.m.

VEHICLES: Maroon 2002 Toyota Camry

DRIVER: Theodore Dixon, 25 years old, St. Louis, Mo. (Not injured)

PASSENGERS:
1) Natalie Henderson, 25 year old, St. Louis, Mo. (Minor injuries)

2) 5 year old female juvenile, St. Louis, Mo. (Not injured)

3) 11 month old female juvenile, St. Louis, Mo. (Not injured)

PRELIMINARY: According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of the 2002 Toyota was traveling north on Interstate 55 near mile post # 124.5. For unknown reasons, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway onto the shoulder, striking a guardrail. The vehicle went back onto, and across, all three lanes of the roadway and went off the left side of the roadway striking another guardrail coming to final rest. The adult female passenger was treated at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield for non-life threatening injuries.

TRANSPORTS: Logan County Paramedic Ambulance Service

SEATBELTS: Seat belts / child restraints used by all occupants

CHARGES: The driver was cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle.
