[August 18, 2015]  Aug 17 (The Sports Xchange) - Major League Baseball on Monday announced the 2015 postseason schedule that begins on Oct. 6 and could feature World Series games going into November.

A World Series Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for Nov. 4.

The 111th World Series will open on Oct. 27 in an American League ballpark, thanks to the AL's 6-3 victory in last month's All-Star Game.

Following the scheduled regular-season finales on Sunday, Oct. 4, potentially necessary regular-season tiebreaker games would be the next day.

The postseason will begin Tuesday, Oct. 6, with the AL wild-card game. The National League wild-card game is the next day.

Both AL Division Series will begin on Oct. 8. The first full slate of Division Series games, featuring two NL Division Series openers and a pair of ALDS Game 2s, will be held on Oct. 9.

Despite a 12-2 record for the Toronto Blue Jays, starter Drew Hutchison was demoted to Triple-A Buffalo.

The right-hander was sent down one day after pitching 6 2/3 innings in a 3-1 win over the New York Yankees.

Hutchison, the Blue Jays' Opening Day starter, has the best winning percentage (.857) in the league -- thanks to the best run support in the majors (6.71 per game). But he has a 5.06 ERA, and opponents are hitting .287.

Toronto called up infielder Matt Hague from Buffalo to replace reliever Aaron Loup, who was sent down Sunday.

New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia had to be restrained from getting into a street brawl on Friday outside a nightclub, based on a video obtained by TMZ.

"Bad decision on my part," Sabathia said. "I probably should have just kept quiet and got in the cab. I'm glad I got in the cab before everything went down. But I didn't know anything that was happening. I didn't know that a big fight and everything happened after."

Freddie Freeman is scheduled to come off the disabled list when eligible Wednesday in San Diego, and this time the Atlanta Braves first baseman will have had an ample number of minor league rehab games.

That wasn't the case at the end of his first DL stint and he played in just 10 games before hurting himself again, although it was a different injury.

This time Freeman, who joined Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, will have played in at least four minor league games before he returns from his right oblique strain.
