[August 19, 2015]  Aug 18 (The Sports Xchange) - Chicago Blackhawks forward Phillip Danault had successful surgery to repair his left hip on Monday

On Tuesday, the team said Danault will be out of action for four months.

Danault had suffered a torn labrum and while the prognosis for recovery is good, his lengthy recovery time will challenge his chance of having an impact next season.

The 22-year-old forward was expected to contend for third- and fourth-line minutes on a new-look Blackhawks team next season.

Danault was the 26th pick of the 2011 draft and spent most of the past three seasons with the AHL Rockford IceHogs.
