[August 25, 2015]  MIDDLETOWN- Norman “Dean” Noon, 90, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on August 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: Monday, August 24, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home            

Service: Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

Dean Noon, 90, of Middletown passed away at 4:10 a.m. on August 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Dean was born September 25, 1924 in Middletown, IL. He married Josephine Krotz July 12, 1946 in Lincoln, IL. She preceded him in death July 31, 2007.

Dean is survived by two daughters: Loretta Sowers of Middletown, IL and Sandy Bacon of Lincoln, IL; five grandchildren: Mike Bacon, Kelly Schreiber, Angela Pittman, Carol Upshaw, Jody Jones; three step-grandchildren: Debbie Rigg, Sheila Mahan, and Rick Sowers; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: C.W. “Bud” Anderson, and two Son-In-Laws: Larry Bacon and Ross Sowers.

 

Dean served in the United States Army in WWII during the years 1943-1946, was a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church, Former Middletown Fire Chief, and a member of 40&8 Locale #985, Greenview Masonic Lodge #653, American Legion Post #672, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #2708, and was a lifelong avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Services for Dean will be Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, IL with Rev. Robert Ervin officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Irish Grove Cemetery, rural Middletown, IL where full military rites will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to Middletown American Legion Post #672 or Middletown Fire Department.
