[December 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - Logan County Animal Control October 14, 2015

Present: Scott Schaffenacker; Kevin Bateman; Andy Anderson; David Hepler; Emily Davenport; Jan Schumacher

Absent: None

Guests: Kelly Cale; Julie Parker; Jane Whiteman

Mr. Schaffenacker called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mr. Anderson to approve the minutes from September 9, 2015 as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business:

Pea Gravel: The City will be contacted to see if they can provide assistance with moving the gravel. They have been busy, so it’s not clear if it can be accomplished before a hard freeze. Mrs. Parker will call Mr. Aukamp to see if the Highway Department could assist. Mr. Schaffenacker also suggested Mr. Moody could be asked for an estimate.

2016 Budget: No discussion. Remove from agenda.

Computer upgrade: Mrs. Parker is waiting until the roof is repaired.

Roof repair options: An estimate for roof repair has been received from Master Builders in the amount of $2,500. A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mrs. Davenport, to accept the bid and approve the work. Motion passed. Funds are available in the building pool fund, if needed. Finance will be asked if there are other funds available.

Logan County Animal Rescue Veterinary Reimbursement: No discussion. Remove from agenda.

New Business:

Military Discount on approved adoptions: Dr. Hepler proposed offering a military discount of $20.00 of any approved adoption to a military family. Mrs. Parker agreed with the proposal. A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mrs. Davenport, to approve this discount. Motion passed.

Administrator/Warden’s report: Mrs. Parker reported there were multiple calls to the same residence for a barking dog. On Saturday, the Lincoln Police officer directed the on-call employee to apprehend the dog, which is not specified in the nuisance ordinance. The owner was not charged any fees, but discussion needs to take place with the Lincoln Police regarding whether they are seeking a change in the ordinance/contract. Mrs. Parker will address it with the police chief. Mrs. Parker also reported she’s had to order several new catch poles.

Budget: No concerns at this time.

Public Comments: None.

A motion was made by Mrs. Davenport, seconded by Mr. Hepler to pay the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Bateman, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:33 pm.
