[February 06, 2015]  Feb 5 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Thursday's National Basketball Association games.

Cavaliers 105, Clippers 94

Forward Kevin Love had 24 points and nine rebounds, and forward LeBron James added 23 points and nine assists in Cleveland's victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Cavs earned their 12th consecutive win, one shy of the franchise record. It came against a Clippers team that looked overmatched and out of sorts most of the night before tempers finally boiled over in a hostile third quarter. The Clippers were assessed five technicals during the game, including four just in the third frame.

Forward Matt Barnes was ejected with 7:17 left in the third when he picked up his second technical, and coach Doc Rivers, guard Chris Paul and center DeAndre Jordan also received technicals.

Clippers forward Blake Griffin had 16 points and eight rebounds, Jordan had 14 rebounds and Paul had 10 points and nine assists despite 4-of-14 shooting from the field.

Mavericks 101, Kings 78

Guard Monta Ellis scored 21 points, and center Tyson Chandler added 16 and 16 rebounds as Dallas hammered Sacramento.

Ellis contributed 11 points during Dallas' 27-10 blitz to close the first half, and the Mavericks made it easy on a night when forward Dirk Nowitzki sat out.

Hornets 94, Wizards 87

Guard Gerald Henderson scored 27 points, and Charlotte continued its recent mastery of Washington. Charlotte, which posted a 92-88 victory in Washington on Monday, now owns five consecutive wins over the Wizards dating back to last season.

The Hornets went on a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter, turning an 83-80 deficit into a 90-83 lead, and they wound up outscoring the Wizards 14-4 over the last 5:13. They trailed by as many as 11 in the third quarter and withstood an unusually high 17 turnovers.

Trail Blazers 108, Suns 87

Forward Nicolas Batum scored 20 points and dished out seven assists as Portland broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter en route to victory over Phoenix.

Forward LaMarcus Aldridge added 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Trail Blazers (34-16), who won their second straight game after going 2-8 in the previous 10 outings.

All five starters, along with reserve guard CJ McCollum (12 points), scored in double figures for Portland. (Editing By Cameron French)
