[February 07, 2015]  Feb 6 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Friday's National Hockey League games:

Penguins 4, Flames 0

Sidney Crosby put on a show and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury put his name in the franchise record books as the Pittsburgh Penguins blanked the Calgary Flames 4-0.

Crosby had two goals and an assist and Fleury made 21 saves to set a single-season shutout record for Pittsburgh with his eighth goose-egg in 42 appearances.

Devils 4, Maple Leafs 1

Veteran center Patrik Elias scored the 400th goal of his NHL career, all with the same team, leading the New Jersey Devils to their third straight victory, a 4-1 triumph over the staggering Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs (22-27-4) lost 10 successive games in the 1966-67 season, all in regulation. Their current 11-game winless streak, which includes a shootout loss that earned a point, is the second-longest in team history.

Toronto has a 3-18-1 record over its last 22 games and a 1-11-1 record since Peter Horachek replaced Randy Carlysle as head coach Jan. 7.

Blue Jackets 7, Blues 1

Nick Foligno scored two goals and added an assist and the Columbus Blue Jackets set a season-high in scoring with a 7-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.

The score also marked the most goals conceded this season by the Blues, whose franchise-record 13-game point streak (12-0-1) ended ignominiously.

Capitals 3, Ducks 2 (SO)

In his first NHL start of the season, Washington goalie Philipp Grubauer stopped 21 shots in regulation, two in overtime and two out of three in the shootout to lead the Capitals to a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Left winger Jason Chimera and defenseman John Carlson scored in regulation for the Capitals.

Anaheim, which had a two-game winning streak halted, is 8-2-1 in its last 11 games.

- - -

Blackhawks 2, Jets 1 (OT)

Left winger Brandon Saad scored the winner in overtime as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1.

Saad's 16th goal of the season for Chicago (32-18-2) ended a miserable day for the Jets, who earlier revealed that left winger Evander Kane had opted for season-ending shoulder surgery after he was a late scratch from Tuesday's game against Vancouver.
