Christian Village supports local food pantry

[February 07, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Christian Village was pleased to present to Bill Overton, of the Lincoln-Logan Food Pantry, non-perishable food items collected during a campus-wide food drive. Both residents and employees donated food items.

The food drive was held in celebration of the national Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

“Our local food pantry is a living example of what Christians, united across denominational lines, can do towards meeting the real needs of people in the name of Christ,” stated Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe.

In the last decade, the Lincoln-Logan Food Pantry has doubled their impact on our community, serving nearly 2,000 people or 600 families in Logan County.

On hand for the presentation were Bill Overton of the Lincoln-Logan County Food Pantry, Christian Village Chaplain Ryan Edgecombem and Christian Village residents Bernice Cade, Carolyn Steele, Evelyn Bates, Bonnie Welch, Jenny Lou Boughan, Lillian Heins, Ilah Horton, John Kapik, Jane May, Pauline Boward and Marilyn Williamson.
