[February 09, 2015]  LINCOLN - Robert “Bob” Gill, 79, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Visitation: From 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, at the funeral home

Obituary

Robert “Bob” Gill, 79, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 also at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Roy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery.

Bob was born September 3, 1935 in Mt. Pulaski, IL., the son of Glenn Gill and Helen Ida Elizabeth (Harden) Gill. He married Esther Goodman on August 11, 1957 in Mount Pulaski. He worked for Caterpillar as a Machinist for 25 years. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing.
 

Funeral Directors

Surviving are his wife Esther Gill of Lincoln; his children: Sharon (Roger) Mote, William Robert Gill, Harold Wayne Gill, and Kenneth Dwayne (Martha) Gill all of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his siblings: Betty Hulva of East Peoria, Dorothy Dambacher of Lincoln, Georgia Horchem of Lincoln, Ruth Stiles of Lincoln, Roger Gill of Lincoln, and Rex Gill of Lincoln. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Wanda Cross, Shirley Dambacher, Glenn Gill, Marilyn McCray, and Virginia Shreve.

Memorial donations may be made to the organization of the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
