[February 13, 2015]  Feb 12 (The Sports Xchange) - After the Sacramento Kings announced Thursday the dismissal of interim coach Tyrone Corbin, George Karl and the team reached agreement on a reported four-year, $15 million contract.

The Kings said in a release that a press conference introducing Karl will be scheduled when the agreement is finalized.

The NBA All-Star Game could be the last appearance of the season for New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.

The eight-time All-Star told ESPN Radio on Thursday that there's a good chance he will be shut down for the remainder of the season after the Sunday's game in Madison Square Garden in New York.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova and Houston Rockets forward Kostas Papanikolaou were added to the rosters for the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Swingman Jimmy Butler will miss more than the Chicago Bulls' game on Thursday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Butler, who has a strained right shoulder, also will not participate in the NBA Skills Challenge competition on Saturday night during All-Star weekend in New York. His status for Sunday's All-Star Game remains undetermined.

Guard John Lucas III signed a second 10-day contract with the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.

Lucas averaged 4.8 points, 4.0 assists and 12.8 minutes in six games with Detroit. He scored a season-high 10 points at Indiana on Feb. 4 and has six assists twice in the span of his first 10-day deal with the Pistons, who signed him Feb. 2 out of the Chinese Basketball Association.
