Whitney Nichols named Mount Pulaski High School Senior-of-the-Month

[February 13, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI - Whitney Nichols, daughter of Steve and Cindy Nichols of Elkhart, has been named February Senior-of-the-month at Mount Pulaski High School. She was selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Whitney is very active at school. She has played Volleyball for 4 years; she was a varsity starter all 4 years and has won 2 state runner up trophies. She was also the captain her senior year. She played basketball for 3 years and she was a varsity start all 3 years. She was also on the team that won the state runner up trophy. Whitney also actively participates in FFA. She has been a member for 4 years and spent the last 2 years as an officer. She was treasurer her junior year and is currently a parliamentarian. She is involved in various judging teams, speech, etc. Whitney has also been a member of the spirit squad for 4 years.

Outside of school Whitney is a member for the 4 H club. She has been a member for 10 years. She also competes at various shows showing her Yorkshire hogs during the summer.

Whitney will be attending Illinois Central College, majoring in computer arts and graphic design. She also plans on play volleyball for the ICC Cougars.

The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Johnson’s Food Center and Johnson True Value Hardware. Monthly award winners receive a $50 award paid to the college they plan to attend and compete for the Senior-of-the-Year honor in May.
