[February 13, 2015]  LINCOLN - Roma “Gerald” Alderman, 84, of Lincoln, passed away February 10, 2015 at The Christian Village.

Visitation:  From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Park Meadows Baptist Church.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the church

Obituary

Roma “Gerald” Alderman, 84, of Lincoln, passed away February 10, 2015 at The Christian Village.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Park Meadows Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. also on Saturday at the church with Pastor Jeremy Vance officiating. Burial will be Monday, February 16, 2015 at 3PM at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.

Gerald was born September 9, 1930 in Greenbrier County, WV, the son of Mack H. Alderman and Berths Pearl (Sloan) Alderman. He married Marilyn Finley Jones on November 6, 2006 in Sevierville, TN.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Gerald was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Richwood, WV for 49 years and was a current member of Park Meadows Baptist Church in Lincoln. He was a long time member of the UMWA and was a life time Coal Miner.

Surviving are his wife Marilyn Alderman of Lincoln, IL.; his step children: Marily J. (David) Bertram of Sevierville, TN, Vickie R. (Tim) Loafman of Palmyra, IL, and Cynthia Moody of Knoxville, TN; his siblings: Alice Ann (Lowell) Cook of Minneapolis, MN, Junior (Grace) Alderman of Rock Cove, WV’ Jerry (Alberta) Alderman of Lake Wylie, SC, Alfred Alderman of Nettie, WV, Danny (Judy) Alderman of Charleston, WV, and Ernie Alderman of Richwood, WV; he is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion Alderman, his wife Leola Alderman, his sister Ruth Herrford, and his brother Billy Alderman.

Memorial donations may be made to Park Meadows Baptist Church or to Safe Haven Hospice.
