[February 13, 2015]  MIDDLETOWN - Dean S. “Hoss” Boyer, 84, of Middletown died at 4:58 p.m. February 10, 2015 at his home.

Visitation: Friday, Feb. 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln

Service: Saturday, February 14, at 10 a.m.  at the funeral home

Obituary

Dean S. “Hoss” Boyer, 84, of Middletown died at 4:58 p.m. February 10, 2015 at his home.

Dean was born August 30, 1930 in Rural Logan County, Illinois, the son of Ted and Hazel Taylor Boyer. He married Barbara Ann Sublett June 19, 1955 in Middletown. She preceded him is death January 1, 2009.

Dean is survived by one son: Gary Boyer of Middletown; one daughter: Sandra Mayer of Mt. Pulaski; five grandchildren: Nicholas (Rachel) Mayer; Natalie Mayer; Allen (Cindy) Boyer; Cory and Tosha Boyer; eight great grandchildren; brothers: Pete (Beverly) Boyer of Elkhart; Earl (Anne) Boyer of Middletown; one sister: Joyce Horney of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and brother: Kenneth.

 

Dean was a farmer for sixty five years in the Middletown area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; was a member of Middletown Methodist Church; Middletown Legion Post # 672; and the 40 & 8.

Services for Dean will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Allan Dean officiating. Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, IL with full military rites by Middletown Legion#672. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in his name to Middletown Legion Post #672.
