[February 16, 2015]  Feb 15 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Sunday's National Hockey League games:

Lightning 5, Sharks 2

Goaltender Ben Bishop made 33 saves, center Steven Stamkos scored his 30th goal of the season, and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the San Jose Sharks 5-2.

Stamkos reached the 30-goal mark for the fourth time in his career and first time since the 2011-12 season when he scored 60 goals.

The victory kicked off a five-game road trip for the Lightning, who had lost on their last five visits to San Jose.

Capitals 5, Ducks 3

Left winger Alex Ovechkin scored two goals and added two assists as the Washington Capitals beat the Anaheim Ducks 5-3 on the road.

Ovechkin's second goal was his 36th of the season, best in the NHL, while left winger Andre Burakovsky also scored twice for Washington (30-17-10).

Blackhawks 2, Penguins 1 (SO)

Right winger Patrick Sharp scored the tiebreaking goal to lift the Chicago Blackhawks to a 2-1 shootout win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Center Jonathan Toews and right winger Patrick Kane also scored during the shootout for the Blackhawks, who completed a regular-season sweep against Pittsburgh.

Blues 2, Panthers 1 (SO)

The St. Louis Blues won for the 15th time in 18 games when they edged the Florida Panthers 2-1 in a shootout.

Center Jori Lehtera scored the game-winning shootout goal after the Panthers had tied it with a goal by center Nick Bjugstad with 1:13 left in regular time that deprived St. Louis goalie Brian Elliott of what would have been a franchise-record-tying 20th shutout.

Flyers 2, Sabres 1

Left winger Michael Raffl scored with 7:15 remaining to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Right winger Matt Read also scored for the Flyers (24-22-10), who extended their point streak to nine consecutive games. (Compiled by Andrew Both)
