[February 19, 2015]  LINCOLN - Blue Room - Logan County Safety Complex September 4, 2014

Logan County EMA Meeting

Present: Rick Aylesworth; Bob Farmer; Kevin Bateman; Dave Blankenship; Emily Davenport; Gene Rohlfs
Guests: Terry Storer

Mr. Aylesworth called the meeting to order at 7:17 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Farmer, seconded by Mr. Bateman to approve the minutes from August 7, 2014 as printed. Motion passed.

Mr. Storer presented the August 2014 call report. Mr. Storer pointed out a few calls they had last month. Mr. Storer talked about the aircraft that landed over by Hartsburg and the Balloon Fest.

Church/Local Organization Plan Development-Update: Mr. Storer reported they are finalizing plans. Mr. Storer presented the plan to Jefferson Street Church for their approval. Kendall Caruthers is working on action plan cards for each room that include a whistler. Mr. Fulscher would like to use this plan to take to other organization.

EM-Com/ EMAT Training: Mr. Storer reported last week EMA had EMAT training. Mr. Storer said the training went very smoothly.

New Business:

IEMA Conference: Mr. Storer was recertified as Professional Emergency Manager. Mr. Storer will not need to be certified again until 2017. Mr. Storer reported Mitigation plan is up for review. Mr. Storer will be working closely with Greg to update the plan.

A motion was made by Mr. Bateman, seconded by Mrs. Davenport, to pay the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Farmer, seconded by Mr. Rohlfs to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 pm.

Logan County Ambulance Meeting

Present: Rick Aylesworth; Bob Farmer; Emily Davenport; Kevin Bateman; Dave Blankenship; Gene Rohlfs
Guests: Steve Siltman

Mr. Aylesworth called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

A motion was made by Mrs. Davenport, seconded by Mr. Bateman to approve the minutes from August 7, 2014 as printed. Motion passed.

Mr. Siltman presented the August call report. There were 164 ALS calls in August. There were 388 total calls in August. The December through August total is 3,087 calls. Mr. Siltman explained what ALS and BLS stands for.

Quarterly Budget Report - This report will be available at the October meeting.

A motion was made by Mr. Farmer, seconded by Mr. Rohlfs, to pay the bills. Motion passed.

Vehicle Status Report - Mr. Siltman reported all vehicles are in good working order. Mr. Siltman reported he just got one back today, the vehicle had its tires balanced and an alignment done.

Logan County Sheriff's Meeting

Mr. Aylesworth called the meeting to order at 7:28 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Bateman to approve the minutes from August 7, 2014 as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business:

New Vehicles: Mr. Bunner reported Sheriff and Bunner are still looking into the new cars. Mr. Bunner gave a brief description of what Sheriff and himself are looking for. Mr. Bateman gave a rough estimated on how much a vehicle would be.

Safety Complex roof and HVAC: Mr. Bateman reported Henson Robinson Company will start September 19, 2014. The project will take about a week. Mr. Bateman reported the County will be getting a rebate just under $10,000.

New Business:

Mr. Bunner reported Sheriff hired two new County Deputies. Ira Underwood was hired June 1, 2014 and Travis Grenlund starts September 28, 2014. The two deputies leave for PTI in late September. Officer Jackson and Officer Brown plan to stay on until the new deputies are trained and out on the road. Zach Colbrock will resign on September 15, 2014. Mr. Colbrock was hired by the Illinois State Police.

Nothing further to report.

A motion was made by Mr. Bateman, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to pay the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed. Mr. Bunner explained the bill regarding the vest.

A motion was made by Mr. Bateman, seconded by Mr. Rohlfs, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:43 pm.

Logan County Coroner Meeting


Present: Rick Aylesworth; Bob Farmer; Emily Davenport; Kevin Bateman; Dave Blankenship; Gene Rohlfs
Guests: Bob Thomas; Doug Brooks


Mr. Aylesworth called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Blankenship, seconded by Mr. Farmer to approve the minutes from August 7, 2014 as printed. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Farmer to approve the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

Old Business:

Mr. Thomas presented the August call report. There were 28 deaths, with four requiring autopsies. Most of the deaths were home deaths.

New Business:

MTU- #10 Agreement: MTU stands for Mobile Team Unit. Mr. Thomas researched MTU. Mr. Thomas had two copies of the agreement. Mr. Thomas will take a copy to State's Attorney to request his approval. A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Blankenship, to approve MTU #10 Agreement upon State Attorney's approval. Motion passed.

September meeting report (FY 13/14): Mr. Thomas went over summary of expenses on page 2.

A motion was made by Mr. Bateman, seconded by Mr. Blankenship, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:12 pm.
