U-High Soccer Standout Commits to Lincoln Christian

[February 19, 2015]  LINCOLN - Lincoln Christian University (LCU) is excited to announce that University High School (U-High) senior Abigail Crockett has committed to play soccer for the Red Lions beginning this fall. LCU Women’s Soccer Head Coach Todd Spellman was present to officiate the signing at U-High that was attended by family, friends and her teammates.

Crockett was the second leading scorer for the Pioneers as a junior last year with 23 goals and 13 assists. She finished fourth in the competitive intercity ranking. Crockett’s career, with still a full season remaining, has been exemplary up to this point.



A four year varsity starter for U-High Head Coach Hayley Sefton, Crockett started earning honors her freshman year with an All-intercity second team mention on U-High’s way to the state finals after winning the super-sectional. She was named to the All-intercity first team in both her sophomore and junior years, while the IHSSCA commended her with an Honorable Mention to the All-Sectional Team in her sophomore year and All-Sectional First Team her junior year.

Crockett wants to major in Psychology at LCU and was drawn to the campus because of opportunities to serve and help people. At her signing she said, “I’m excited to continue my soccer career at Lincoln while also getting to grow in my faith.”

Coach Spellman expressed his excitement saying, “Abigail is a very high quality player with a lot of drive and skill that will have an immediate impact on our team. But more than that, she is a great person that I think will contribute to the campus life as well. I’m very pleased she chose Lincoln and can’t wait for next season.”
